When was the last time you stood up for something you believed in?  When was the last time you fought really hard for something you believed is right?

One of the most memorable movies I have seen that speaks about conviction and courage is the 1995 epic movie “Braveheart.”  It is very inspiring because it depicts bravery and conviction at its finest. You know that you do not have a chance for victory but you are willing to die for something that you feel is important and is worthy of the cause. In the modern day and age, we call these people  heroes or martyrs. An epitome of what bravery is all about.

Growing up my playmates and I would call each other brave whenever we dare enter a dark room, alone.  Or our parents would call us brave for the times we did not shed a tear during a visit to the doctor.

Personally, I see that we all possess courage, audacity or bravery.  However there is an underlying factor, others fail to exhibit such traits because of the choices they make.

I admire people who are bold about voicing out their faith, political preference, gender preference and more.  I do not need to agree with them. In fact, in some cases we are on the opposite ends. However, what is laudable is they are willing to risk whatever it takes to fight for their rights, beliefs and convictions.

We do not have to place ourselves in the battleground to be called brave.  We simply have to make a stand, a choice, believe in it and fight for it. But the best conviction for me is when you fight for something for the good of the majority and not for a personal benefit.

I pause and challenge you my friend….What cause for you is worth fighting for?
