The Mark of a True Winner

The Mark of a True Winner

Football, Baseball and basketball are the top 3 most popular sports in America.  People troop to the stadiums to watch their favorite teams compete. Watching the athletes give their all to bag the much coveted win and title is very inspiring.  It’s the never say die attitude that makes them better in their craft.

All of us have an athlete’s heart.  We constantly strive to excel and win.  Our battles are not in stadiums or courts, but in our daily lives. We are in  competition every day. We compete to do well in our studies, our work. subconsciously, even in the simple things, like getting a ride to work, we wrestle it out  to get that Uber driver right on our doorsteps.

It is good to be competitive because it is our competitive spirit that drives us to achieve more and discover what we are truly capable of.  When we compete, we are not just racing with other individuals, we are also racing against ourselves. Everyday, we challenge ourselves to be better than yesterday.  We are summoning our courage, energy and strength to supercede what we have done before. Our goal, is to prove to ourselves that we can always be better. There will always be a room for improvement if only we work hard to achieve it.

Use your competitive spirit to be a better individual.  Our ability to compete inspires us to reach higher levels.  However, bear in mind that as you compete in this world, do it because you want to improve yourself, to bring out a better version of who you are.  Never compete to bring down other people, because in doing that, you will never emerge as a winner. True winners are those who elevate not just themselves but also the people around them.
